Valerie is an active volunteer and supporter within her community, serving on the Board of Directors, The Properties Board and The Executive Committee for The Children’s Home in Tampa, Florida.

She is a Mentor in the University of Tampa’s MBA Program, was a 10 year member of Vistage formerly known as The Executive Committee (TEC). She served on the board of directors for the Economic Development Council, the Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Women’s Leadership Steering Committee and the Diversity Council for Wachovia Bank.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Psychology, from Florida Metropolitan University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.  Valerie is currently pursuing her Master’s of Science in Professional Counseling from Southeastern University.

The largest firm, Wachovia Insurance Services (formerly known as Davis Baldwin Insurance & Risk Management), was recognized by Best Practices as the number one firm in the country in their respective industry.

Valerie brings a unique combination of strategic and developmental strengths. She achieved extraordinary results within her organizations in both growth and profitability.

Her accomplishments in this area are evidenced in the bottom line she delivered. In five short years in one firm, she grew sales by 240% and margin by 491%. Her own business grew by 100% and the last firm she was with tripled its value in just three years.

She believes that the true differentiator and driver of these results was the uncommon culture she and her team created and nurtured. Passionate about recruitment and retention of top talent, she maintained high employee morale with an environment that was built on integrity, trust, transparency, communication, mastery, respect, accountability and laughter.

By creating environments where top talent was recognized and rewarded for their performance, high client satisfaction ensued as evidenced by consistently delivering over 90% client retention. High client retention is difficult in any business but especially difficult in year over year evaluations.

Navigating Change with Strong Leadership

Valerie not only achieved these results historically, she achieved these results during the year her largest firm was acquired by a top 5, public bank. She successfully led the organization through the initial acquisition and was at the helm navigating the firm when a second acquisition occurred; the unexpected acquisition of the bank her firm had been acquired by. She kept her staff focused throughout both acquisitions achieving unprecedented growth as well as 100% client retention.

She was selected to head the region for the new parent company and grew the number of offices from two to seven and employee count to 200 by increasing sales, attracting and retaining top talent and making acquisitions.

Her financial knowledge and acumen coupled with her philosophical belief in the importance of culture, accountability and vision provide the foundational core of her exceptional track record and reputation.

She has been the President and CEO in a private to public company, a privately held company and started her own consulting business where she focused on all aspects of business including Strategic Planning, Executive Coaching, Leadership Training, Company Valuations, Sales Development, Budgeting, Forecasting and Reengineering organizational changes.
